Jumpstart a Journal

In July 2024 I participated in a short course run by The Suburban Review to learn about starting and running a literary journal. We received, selected and edited submission from generous writers who let us ‘practice’ on them! The result is a mini journal called Hills Hoist Vol.4. Read it for free here.

From the Editorial: “We asked the editors about the themes they saw in the works they chose for the issue. They told us that Hills Hoist Volume 4 is filled with a sense of belonging and intimacy; it measures time and the degrees of distance between people; it works to ‘shine different lights on some of the myriad ways in which people come together’ (Annette Higgs). And we couldn’t be prouder.”
